Scrim Portrait

For this assignment we had to take a portrait using a scrim. A scrim is a tool in photography that is used to soften the light on a model or object. For the photograph I used Shannel as my model and placed the scrim to the right of her where the light from the sun was coming from. One difficulty I faced when doing the project was that i had to make sure that the people holding up the scrim didn't show up in the photograph and I had to move them accordingly. As for my results, I feel that I was successful with using the scrim because the lighting does appear to be a lot softer and the shadows on her face don't appear to be as harsh as it would be without a scrim.
